CHINA - Troops to Russia for Vostok Exercise

Arno Froese

Chinese troops will travel to Russia to take part in joint military exercises led by the host and including India, Belarus, Mongolia, Tajikistan and other countries, China’s defense ministry said.

China’s defense ministry said its participation in the exercises was part of an ongoing bilateral annual cooperation agreement with Russia.

A year ago, Russia and China held joint military exercises in north-central China involving more than 10,000 troops. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu praised the Sibu/Cooperation-2021 drills in China’s Ningxia and suggested they could be developed further.

In October, Russia and China held joint naval drills in the Sea of Japan. Days later, Russian and Chinese warships held their first joint patrols in the western Pacific., 17 August 2022

Arno's Commentary

The world’s largest country and the world’s most populous nation are holding military exercises/maneuvers for the purpose of defense. We also notice that in these exercises, India—another potential world economic leader—is joining in. That makes it, population-wise, the greatest alliance ever in history.

The purpose is the same as that of all other nations in the world for the last 6,000 years: “Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up: Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong” (Joel 3:9-10).

What will be the end? We can sum it up with one word: unity. Such was the case in the past, and so it will be in the future. The unique difference now is that gigantic power blocs are being formed—for example, NATO is in the process of enlarging its borders to include Sweden and Finland (Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania already joined in 2004). But in the end, merchandise will remain king: it will serve as the adhesive to the now-in-progress new, New World Order.
