GERMANY - Coronavirus Diagnostic Tests to the US

German molecular testing company Qiagen NV said it has begun shipping its diagnostic test for COVID-19 to the United States.

The test kit, QIAstat-Dx Respiratory SARS-CoV-2 Panel, requires less than one minute for sample preparation and can deliver results in about one hour, the company said.

Shipments come under a new policy laid out by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to help accelerate the availability of coronavirus diagnostic tests, developed by laboratories and commercial manufacturers during the public health emergency.

The company intends to submit an application for the related Emergency Use Authorization to the FDA, Qiagen said.

The test kit can differentiate the coronavirus from 20 other respiratory infections in patients who may have similar symptoms, in a single test run of about one hour.

Qiagen, which is being bought by Thermo Fisher Scientific in an $11.5 billion deal, has already received ‘CE’ marking, a kind of fit-for-use certificate, for the diagnostic test in Europe., 24 March 2020

Arno's commentary

This obviously is good news for the US. The product will be able to deliver results in about an hour. If hundreds of millions—if not billions—of such diagnostic tests were made available, it would free the bulk of the work force to continue their employment. In the United States, as of 26 March 2020, over 75,000 cases of coronavirus are confirmed, with approximately 1,100 deaths. In simple terms, an almost insignificant number of people would have to be quarantined. From around the globe, we receive news that new test kits are being created and manufactured in mass.

Coronavirus has not been conquered, and it seems there is more to come. But, as previously mentioned, coronavirus will be conquered.

During the G-20 videoconference, Chinese president Xi stated, “The international community must strengthen their confidence and act with unity on COVID-19 and practice collective action for global economic recovery.” A report from is headlined, “As China Recovers from COVID-19 Blow, Chinese Rush to Europe’s Rescue”:

“Dozens of boxes containing 50,000 medical masks dispatched from Changsha in south-central China were handed over to Bedburg city officials in eastern Germany. Written on the boxes was a German proverb, which translates as ‘mountains and valleys don’t come together, but humans do.’”

Unity at all costs; globalism is now more than ever a must.
