IRAN - Vows to Liberate Golan Heights

Arno Froese

Iran’s judiciary chief, Ebrahim Raisi, told Syria’s ambassador to Iran that it supports the “resistance” to retake the Golan Heights from Israel.

Raisi, a key figure and former presidential candidate, was quoted in Tasnim News in Iran about his comments about Israel. He was meeting Ambassador Adnan Mahmoud. He praised Syria and said that Iran and Syria must work together to accelerate the “demise of the fake Israeli regime.”

Raisi said that “the people of the region are showing that Syria stood well against the United States and Israel and all their armies, which are also supported by some countries in the region.”

“Israel is perishable,” Raisi said, and called for “active resistance.” The head of the judiciary mentioned the assassination of “martyr Qasem Soleimani” as an unforgettable crime., 28 October 2020

Arno's Commentary

Enemies, by whatever name, seem to use an inexhaustible supply of make-believe stories, often light-years away from the truth.

Iran does not border Israel; it really has no bones to pick with the Jewish state. Yet Israel provides an excellent target to divert attention away from Iran’s extreme difficulties, partly due to their accelerated nuclear ambition. They are similar to Turkey—also not bordering Israel—experiencing extreme difficulties internally as well.

Iran, a nation of about 67 million people, produces a bad report card, with 37.8 deaths per 1,000 live births; life expectancy stands at 71.1 years, and per capita GDP is only $12,800. Thus, the question: why so anti-Israel? The answer lies in the fact that certain nations which have not reached the point of being called “developed,” indulge in expressing unbridled hatred against those who have.

Based on Bible prophecy, we believe that much of Iran needs to be liberated from the oppressive religious-political regime, burdening the people with its insistence on religious authority instead of democracy.

When it comes to liberation of any territory, the decision is in Israel’s camp. According to our knowledge, much of Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan can be considered Arab-occupied Israeli territory.

We read the following about Israel and Babylon/the Chaldeans: “Thus saith the Lord, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships. I am the Lord, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King” (Isaiah 43:14-15).
