ISRAEL - Immigration from Russia Up 400%

Arno Froese

There has been an over 400% increase in aliyah from Russia in 2022, compared to 2021, according to new statistics published by Ofek Israeli—the National Aliyah Promotion Company.

“In recent years, the encouragement of immigration to Israel has been carried out with the help of hundreds of emissaries located all over the world,” Ofek Israeli CEO Shimon Cohen said. He explained that “when the proper information is distributed correctly to Jews around the world, tens-of-thousands of people make aliyah to Israel.”

“I am proud of the privilege we have to fulfill the Zionist vision every day in our work and to strengthen Israel with tens of thousands of new immigrants every year,” Ofek Israeli chairman Dimi Afratsev said. “Even during the crisis in Ukraine, a country where I served as an emissary in the past, we knew how to react quickly and make sure that those entitled to aliyah would come home to Israel.”

Arno's Commentary

Ofek is one of the many organizations and movements encouraging Jews to immigrate to Israel. It’s also named the National Aliyah Promotion Company.

In the Jewish Agency’s 2016 annual report, we learn that Ofek was founded in 2015. The report states: “The Ofek Yisraeli company was set up by The Jewish Agency and World Zionist Organization on the basis of a decision of the Government of Israel in June 2014 ‘to set up a national project for the promotion of aliyah to Israel from all countries of the world.’”

When looking through the many pages of the Jewish Agency report, one is quite amazed at the global reach of the organization and its members, with the one declared goal: to bring home Jews from all over the world to the land of their fathers, the Promised Land, the land of Israel.

In previous reports, we have mentioned that the Jewish Agency is the primary organization responsible for the overwhelming bulk of Jews returning to Israel.

But there is more: the Spirit of God is working in these end times to establish the Jewish nation in contrast to all other nations in the world. This is because Israel is the place from which we have our Bible, where the Messiah Jesus Christ was born, and where He promised to return. Ezekiel 34:13 is applicable: “I will feed them in a good pasture, and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold be: there shall they lie in a good fold, and in a fat pasture shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel.”
