About 10,000 people joined the Jerusalem March for Pride and Tolerance, marking 20 years of Pride marches in Israel’s capital.

“Over the years we have fought for the right to march and demonstrate for equality and for a tolerant Jerusalem that embraces and celebrates the beautiful existence of all its residents,” said Alon Shachar, CEO of the Jerusalem Open House for Pride and Tolerance, which organizes the event. “I wish us to continue working for a better future, and I invite you to be with us in years of parades in Jerusalem and more years of activism and building a broad proud community in the capital and around the world.”

Earlier, police announced that they had arrested a man from south Jerusalem who had sent anonymous death threats to the organizers of the parade and a number of MKs from a profile named “the brothers of Yishai Schlissel,” referring to the Haredi man who murdered Shira Banki at the 2015 Jerusalem Pride march. The threats warned the recipients that “the fate of Shira Banki” was “awaiting” them.

In light of the threats, Knesset Speaker Mickey Levy decided to take part in the march, marking the first time that a Knesset speaker has ever participated in the event., 2 June 2022

Arno's Commentary

When Jesus speaks of His second coming, He mentions two destructive events: the days of Noah and the days of Lot: “And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed” (Luke 17:26-30).

How does this relate to the LGBTQ march in Jerusalem? We can answer with one word: equality. We know the god of this world will produce his superman—Antichrist—who will and must mimic the true equality; namely, the Church. The apostle Paul reveals the perfect unity in the Church: “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28).
