JAPAN - 40% of Firms Won’t Use AI
Nearly a quarter of Japanese companies have adopted artificial intelligence (AI) in their businesses, while more than 40% have no plan to make use of the cutting-edge technology, a Reuters survey showed.
The survey, conducted for Reuters by Nikkei Research, pitched a range of questions to 506 companies over July 3-12 with roughly 250 firms responding, on condition of anonymity.
About 24% of respondents said they have already introduced AI in their businesses and 35% are planning to do so, while the remaining 41% have no such plans, illustrating varying degrees of embracing the technological innovation in corporate Japan.
As for hurdles to introduction, a manager at a transportation company cited “anxiety among employees over possible headcount reduction.”

Arno's Commentary
Japan is a country with cutting-edge technology, and is at the forefront when it comes to optics, transportation, and communication. Yet, the Nikkei Research Company found that over 40% have no plans to make use of AI.
There is no escape from artificial intelligence. Information makes the world go round, and information is actually the foundation of creation.
We read in the third verse of the Bible, “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” In contrast, those who believe in evolution insist that the physical world, even the universe, simply evolved. That, of course, contradicts true science, which has established that age deteriorates, and that nothing has ever been shown to evolve into something more sophisticated.
Not only Japan, but also all of the about 200 sovereign states in the world will have to comply to the old truism, “Change or perish.”
One distinct difference outside the Church is Israel. Isaiah 41:14 proclaims: “Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.” How informative this is. Israel, the most important entity in the Bible, is called here “thou worm Jacob.” Luther actually translates it würmlein (small worm). In contrast, all other nations use animal symbols of great power and strength; some 24 countries use the eagle as their symbol. Others use elephants, or the giant panda for China. Wolves, bears, etc. are also common.
In the end, however, the dominance belongs to God’s chosen nation. Isaiah 41:20 declares: “That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the Lord hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.”
