JAPAN - $5.5 Billion in Ukraine Aid
“Japan is in a position to lead the world’s efforts to support Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression and to uphold a free and open international order based on the rule of law,” Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said.
“Russia’s aggression against Ukraine is not just a European matter, but a challenge to the rules and principles of the entire international community,” he said.
He added that Japan faces its “most severe” security environment since World War II, citing North Korea’s growing nuclear missile program and “attempts to unilaterally change the status quo by force in the East and South China Seas.”
“Due to Russia’s actions, the world now faces a real threat from nuclear weapons,” Kishida said. “It is important to convey the reality of the atomic bombings to the world, including the G7 leaders, as the starting point for all efforts toward nuclear disarmament.”

With Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, we are increasingly reminded of the words of Jesus: “Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom” (Luke 21:10). Japan has aligned itself solidly with the West. Global media voices declare in unison that Russia is the aggressor. Yet when reading sources from the East, there is quite a difference of opinion. Just recently, the United Nations condemned the brutality of the Ukrainian military forces as well as the Russian. Of course, we all know the worst-case scenario would be nuclear warfare. Will that happen? Wars are always unpredictable; thus, forecasts of such are only speculation.
What we do know with absolute certainty is that peace is, was, and always will be absent from planet earth until the Prince of Peace arrives in Israel. He will abolish all weapons of war, as documented in Micah 4:3: “And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.”
