NORTH KOREA - Visas for Israeli Tourists

Arno Froese

North Korea has announced that they plan to issue tourist visas to Israelis. The Asian nation has come under major scrutiny from the West for its nuclear program, human rights violations and provocative military exercises—but that’s not stopping one Israeli tourism agency. The company has secured an exclusive agreement to issue tourist visas for North Korea and are offering formal, guided trips come Spring and Summer.

According to the agency’s estimations, only 100 Israelis have visited North Korea on organized trips in the past. Up until now, Israelis interested in visiting the controversial nation have had to apply for entry through Chinese tour agencies.

Right now, four tours are being offered from April until May, and travelers are being reassured that the country’s military programs and nuclear research will not affect tourism.

[Recently], South Korea claimed that North Korea fired a projectile missile into its eastern sea in a supposed effort to advance its weapons program., 13 February 2017

Arno's commentary

Israelis, according to a recent report, are the most traveled people (per capita) in the world. What is the reason for Israelis traveling so much? According to the prophetic Word, Israel is going to be the head nation on planet Earth. This requires the population to be acquainted with most, if not all, countries. Among the many promises, we read in Isaiah 42:16: “And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.” That is yet to come.
