RUSSIA - Unipolar World Order Nearing Its End

Arno Froese

Addressing a security conference attended by military officials from Africa, Asia and Latin America, Putin reaffirmed his long-held claim that he sent troops into Ukraine in response to Washington turning the country into an “anti-Russia” bulwark.

The speech represented the latest attempt by the Russian leader to rally support amid bruising Western sanctions that targeted the Russian economy and finance along with its government structures, top officials and businesses for Moscow’s action in Ukraine.

The Russian leader claimed that “Western globalist elites” were trying “to shift the blame for their own failures to Russia and China,” adding that “no matter how hard the beneficiaries of the current globalist model try to cling to it, it’s doomed.”

“The era of the unipolar world order is nearing its end,” he added., 16 August 2022

Arno's Commentary

From just a cursory analysis of global news media, one can definitely detect “an ‘anti-Russia’ bulwark.” This is not only due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, but also, an anti-Russian mentality has clearly been expressed in the past. In news media and also the entertainment industry—Russia and Russians have almost universally been portrayed as the bad guys. One must assume that communist ideology contributed heavily to such a view.

Putin’s statement, “the current globalist model…is doomed,” is quite realistic. It is of a temporary nature, and will be replaced with the new, New World Order. This development is absolutely necessary in order to fulfill Bible prophecy. For example, Zechariah 12:3: “And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.” In opposition to Jerusalem, “all the people of the earth [shall] be gathered together against it.” Here we may also quote Joel 3:2: “I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.” From the over 200 recognized nations on planet earth, there is not one that would officially agree with the set borders of Israel: from the Euphrates down to el-Arish, the River of Egypt.

We point to Revelation 13, where we read in verse 3b: “The whole world was astonished and followed the beast.”

When analyzing world events from Biblical perspectives, we will not be confused about the things that are transpiring today. Whether it’s Russia, China, Ukraine, the USA, or the rest of the nations of the world, God’s view is unchanging: “All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity” (Isaiah 40:17).
