SWITZERLAND - World Economic Forum Meets
The annual event in the Swiss ski resort town of Davos has increasingly become a target of bizarre claims from a growing chorus of commentators who believe the forum involves a group of elites manipulating global events for their own benefit. Experts say what was once a conspiracy theory found in the internet’s underbelly has now hit the mainstream.
The meeting draws heads of state, business executives, cultural trendsetters and representatives from international organizations to the luxe mountain town. Though it’s always unclear how much concrete action will emerge, the meeting is slated to take on pressing global issues from climate change and economic uncertainty to geopolitical instability and public health.
“When we have very high levels of ambiguity, it’s very easy to fill in narratives,” said Kathleen Hall Jamieson, who is the director of the Annenberg Public Policy Center at the University of Pennsylvania and also studies misinformation.
In a time of mounting anxiety, Jamieson says the public has become more susceptible to falsehoods, as conspiracy theories emerge as a tool to cut through the chaos. Researchers who monitor extremism say these beliefs are becoming more popular and more concerning.
Meanwhile, the popular claim that the forum wants people to replace meat with bugs is a distorted reference to an article once published on the organization’s website. In another instance, a widely shared post claimed without evidence that the forum had “appointed” U.S. Rep. Kevin McCarthy as speaker of the House before the actual vote had taken place.
“Creating all that kind of stuff can generate enemies that people believe are responsible for whatever bad thing is happening in the world,” said Alex Friedfeld. “Once that happens, when you believe that things are happening in the world and a certain person or group of people is responsible for these attacks, all of a sudden, the idea of using violence to resist becomes more plausible.”

Arno's Commentary
Here the statement of purpose: “The World Economic Forum is an independent international organization committed to improving the state of the world by engaging business, political, academic and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas.”
The organization, founded in 1971 by Klaus Schwab, gathers in Davos, Switzerland annually. Are they conspirators attempting to change the world? Yes and no. Yes, they indeed improve the world in business, politics, academics, etc. “to shape global, regional, and industry agendas.” That is what every government wants for its nation; namely, peace, prosperity, and security. This is the direction the world must go to fulfill Bible prophecy.
When reading Revelation 17, we see the powers of darkness unify the world: “These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast” (v. 13). This is taking place in the invisible world, but eventually will be manifest in the visible world.
The next verse states: “These shall make war with the Lamb.” Who are “these”? Diabolical power structures that are united in one purpose: fighting the Lamb. Thus, we know these are not geopolitical realities but speak of the demonic world. Nevertheless, in the end stages of the end times, it will be physically manifested.
The World Economic Forum is one of hundreds, if not thousands of movements and organizations that, with all means and power at their disposal, want to create a world that is peaceful, prosperous, and secure. That is the right condition for the powers of darkness to completely deceive humanity, believing that he himself has created an ultimate god.
As to “no,” the conspiracy theorists who communicate on various platforms on the internet, etc., are barking up the wrong tree. Why? Because the WEF, the Bilderbergers, the Council of Foreign Relations, the Freemasons, and other “shadowy” organizations are just the result of the invisible powers of darkness. We must add, so is your country, or any country throughout human history.
The Bible summarizes the world with these words: “And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness” (1 John 5:19). Philippians 2:15 warns the believer: “That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world.” Galatians 1:4 reinforces this: “Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father.”
