TURKEY - Does Not Recognize LGBT

Arno Froese

Speaking at an AK Party congress in Ankara, Erdogan, who has frequently labeled members of the LGBTQ community as “deviants,” said neither his party, nor their nationalist MHP allies, recognized the LGBTQ community.

“We do not recognize LGBT. Whoever recognizes LGBT can go and march with them. We are members of a structure that holds the institution of family solid, that strongly embraces the family institution,” he said.

“We will dry the roots of sneaky acts aiming to destroy our family institution by supporting perverse political, social and individual trends,” he told tens of thousands of flag-waving and chanting supporters.

Arno's Commentary

It is noteworthy that Turkey is a Muslim country. When checking HumanDignityTrust.org, one notices that virtually all of the Middle East and the wider Muslim world are in agreement with President Erdogan’s statement, “We are members of a structure that holds the institution of family solid, that strongly embraces the family institution.”

The only country opposing LGBT on the American continent (North and South) is Guyana, a small nation of about 800,000 people, of which approximately 35% are Christian and 6.8% Muslim.

It is not insignificant nor coincidental that Jesus refers to a great sign in the end times, namely Sodom: “But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed” (Luke 17:29-30).
