USA - Michigan Seeking Israeli Industry Solutions

Arno Froese

Michigan is looking into adopting Israeli industry 4.0 innovations as a result of increasing demands for more remote accessibility, monitoring and management capabilities for production plants, according to an article by the Hebrew business publication Calcalist.

The coronavirus crisis has accelerated digitization and automation. As such, Michigan is aiming to adopt more of these solutions in order to have a competitive edge in the market.

Israel has some 255 startups in operation optimization, inspection and testing, supply chain, maintenance, 3D printing and connectively and security vulnerabilities—all part of the industry 4.0 revolution. The revolution emanates from Israeli capabilities in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence/machine learning, computer vision, sensor and complex integration capabilities, the article explained.

Israeli companies have also been receiving extensive investments from venture capital firms looking to place money in the field of industry 4.0., 23 November 2020

Arno's Commentary

Israel’s unique position and condition—being surrounded by countries that seek its harm, most notably Iran—is actually turning to its advantage. Israel, as one leader once said, cannot afford to lose one war. Thus, they eagerly build their intellectual defense. When one reads terms such as “cybersecurity, artificial intelligence/machine learning, computer vision, sensor and complex integration capabilities,” it’s far above and beyond most of us to comprehend these definitions.

Although the US is Israel’s strongest supporter, it becomes more and more evident that the US is gaining more from Israel than Israel from the US.

Here we are reminded of these verses from the Psalmist: “My soul breaketh for the longing that it hath unto thy judgments at all times. Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, which do err from thy commandments. Remove from me reproach and contempt; for I have kept thy testimonies. Princes also did sit and speak against me: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes. Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counselors. My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word. I have declared my ways, and thou heardest me: teach me thy statutes. Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works. My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word. Remove from me the way of lying: and grant me thy law graciously. I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments have I laid before me. I have stuck unto thy testimonies: O Lord, put me not to shame. I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt enlarge my heart” (Psalm 119:20-32).
