Spiritual Strength For Each Day

“For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming? For ye are our glory and joy” (1 Thessalonians 2:19-20).

The crown of rejoicing is made up of the souls we have won for Christ. Are you a soul-winner? Jesus once said to “fishermen,” “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men” (Matthew 4:19). You can “fish” when you talk with people. You can win souls in prayer. Does your heart burn for the lost? Are souls won for Jesus in your church? If you ask the Lord, He will give you souls. How wonderful it will be for those who receive a crown of rejoicing!
In the New Testament, the Lord promises us five different crowns. These crowns are for those who overcome, those who have dedicated their lives completely to Jesus. Do you have to pursue five different goals? No, for in Revelation 19:11-12 it says, “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns.” All these wonderful crowns are united in one person: Jesus Christ!
