Spiritual Strength For Each Day

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12).

The highest expression of faith is that we learn to thank God at all times in the face of spiritual hostility. If we do this, the Lord Himself will intervene immediately and mightily on our behalf. Praise glorifies Him, for it leads to the worship of His exalted person. Praise and worship are the way to the effective prayer that the Lord Jesus taught us, “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name” (Matthew 6:9). But it is more than this. Praise is the door into the presence of God, “…Thou shalt call…thy gates Praise” (Isaiah 60:18). Praise assures us the royal permission to enter into the courts of God, “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him and bless his name” (Psalm 100:4).
Thank Him and praise Him—for what? Thank Him for His unspeakable gift, Jesus Christ, and praise and worship Him for His precious blood that He shed for you.
