Spiritual Strength For Each Day

“He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace” (Proverbs 11:12).

It is a wonderful thing when we see ourselves as we are. We come to know ourselves through continual, prayerful reading of the Bible. This leads, of a necessity, to deeper knowledge of the Lamb of God. The more I see my own, corrupt nature in the light of the Word, the more I am able to see the Lamb, in spirit and not just with my intellect, “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world” (John 1:29).

This makes us inwardly still, so that we learn to be careful with our words, particularly concerning others. We can become and remain still, even in the greatest storms of life, but only in union with Jesus. This union with Him is in the spirit, “He that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit” (1 Corinthians 6:17). That is divine wisdom. In Proverbs 9:10 it says, “The knowledge of the holy is understanding.” Through ever deeper knowledge of the Lamb, we will become capable of being silent where the natural man so loves to talk and speaks evil of his neighbor. Are you a wise man who has put on wisdom in person in Jesus Christ? I call you today to heed the words, “Put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 13:14).
