Spiritual Strength For Each Day

“Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2:4).

Here we have insight into the will of God. God wants everyone to be saved. If you confess your sins before the Lord, then know this, that the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses you from all sin and brings you into the sphere of the will of God. We know the will of God with regard to our sanctification, “For this is the will of God, even your sanctification” (1 Thessalonians 4:3). Sanctification is going a step further than having our sins forgiven. Forgiveness of sins is turning away from sin; sanctification is turning to Jesus. Whoever does not live in sanctification is already withdrawing from the will of God. It is an inevitable fact that in our lives as believers, there is always an either/or. Either we live within the sphere of the will of God and are happy, blessed and comforted, or we are within the sphere of the will of Satan and have to do things we do not want to do. You have to give way to your lust although you do not want to; you have to lie although you want to speak the truth; you have to be impure although you would rather be pure. The reason for your disobedience is that you have never determinedly come within the sphere of the will of God. Today, decide to do His will.
