Spiritual Strength For Each Day

Whom should we call upon in prayer? The Lord Jesus Himself said expressly that we should pray to the Father in His name. He pointed us to His Father again and again. God is the goal, and His Son is the way that leads us to this goal. This was the purpose of the sufferings of the Lord Jesus, “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God” (1 Peter 3:18). We should tread this path also. There is no other way! We have boldness to enter into the sanctuary, that is, into the direct presence of God, through the blood of Jesus. And Jesus taught us to pray, “Our Father which art in heaven…” (Matthew 6:9). Paul also shows us this way, “I thank my God through Jesus Christ” (Romans 1:8).
We confess that Jesus Christ is the Lord. We wait for His appearing. In Jesus Christ, the grace of God has been given us. May we not pray directly to the Lord Jesus, then? Stephen did, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit” (Acts 7:59). Jesus Himself said, “He that seeth me seeth him that sent me” (John 12:45).
