Astonishing Demand for Bibles Among Students

By Andre and Ingrid Beitze, Guatemala

How the Lord provides encouragement for our ministry in Guatemala.

This year, after three years of coronavirus and online lessons, the government made in-person lessons for children mandatory again. Many parents and students welcomed the decision to finally return to “normal.”

We’re amazed by the great demand for children’s Bibles from the schools, and even for complete Bibles for children in higher grades. We’re very grateful to the Lord for it. Although classes began during the first weeks of January, Bibles were still being purchased in bookstores almost daily for a few weeks after that. What a blessing that children are being exposed to the Word of God from an early age.

Ingrid and I were personally able to offer Bibles and Midnight Call materials to the parents for two days at one school. While doing so, we learned that many of them come from a Catholic background. Nevertheless, they prefer to enroll their children in a Protestant school, even when a Catholic one is just around the corner. We were also able to give some of them an evangelistic tract to take. We pray that the hearts of these parents will be reached with the Gospel through their children.

Encouragements
We’re continually hearing encouraging testimonies of God’s Word at work. Recently, a man in the bookstore told us, “The Lord has brought me back to His ways. Now I need a study Bible so I can better understand God’s Word.”

The Lord makes His Word alive and causes it to bear fruit. He’s the One who keeps helping us with our work in the bookstore, designing the books, magazines, and tracts, and proclaiming His Word.
