Many Responsibilities, and New Co-laborers

By Stephan and Carina Beitze, Argentina

A while back, we (Carina, Stephan, and our daughter Damaris) took part in a camp for about 100 young people, ministering the Word every day for a week.

The landscape was very similar to Switzerland, and we were able to praise God for His incredible creation. But most importantly, the Lord was working in the hearts of these young people through His Word. There were several glad testimonies.

A few days later, we had the privilege of teaching God’s Word at a family retreat on the coast of Uruguay. About 450 people had come together there. In addition to the large gatherings, we were also able to have numerous personal conversations with couples. The enormous need in this area was noticeable: The enemy is managing to destroy many marriages and families.

We used our time in Uruguay to record several programs for our radio ministry. And we also began making some video recordings with our brothers in the studio in Switzerland, which will go on YouTube.

Reinforcements from Buenos Aires
The Gallardo family from Ecuador is now working alongside us. God began to call them to missionary work in Argentina several years ago. Even when he was a child, Daniel Gallardo would hear messages from Midnight Call on the well-known radio station HCJB, “The Voice of the Andes.”

After leaving an excellent position as systems manager for a Christian hospital associated with that station, he and his family are now taking over Midnight Call’s internet work here in Argentina. They have two children, aged 14 and 9. Naturally, they had to make all the necessary arrangements to settle in Argentina, such as residency permits, rent, and many other details (some of which are still in progress). One pressing concern is that the Lord would provide the necessary living expenses, since they’re receiving very little support.

The other family that is now working alongside us in Buenos Aires is the Olivera family, with their 15-year-old daughter. They were already missionaries in Argentina, serving in a city about 700 km (430 mi.) away. They’ve now relocated to Buenos Aires, in a house that is being loaned to them. Since it had been unoccupied for 30 years, it needed numerous repairs before they could move in.

We’re very happy that our team in Buenos Aires is being strengthened, although the transition of our new workers into their homes and responsibilities will create a bit of extra work at first.

Church
We also have many duties in the local church where we gather. God is granting wonderful growth there. New people come almost every Sunday, so we’re almost out of space. We’re in negotiations with the owners to buy the house next door. Although we still lack the funds to do so, we’re hopeful that we’ll be able to buy it at the right time, thus expanding our capacity and ministry opportunities.
