Can we expect the European Union to be the last world empire?

Definitely! No other political, economic or financial power bloc can match its age, influence and strength. The European Union Treaty is based on irreversible membership; in other words, once a member, always a member.

Above and beyond these facts is the authoritative voice of Scripture. We read about the image of the ages, a statue made out of gold, silver, brass, iron and his feet mixed with iron and clay in Daniel's second chapter. The last power structure is a mixture of iron and clay. That means Roman global laws and the Jewish people, who are represented by clay. This is in the works today. Israel will also become a member of the European Union and for the first time in history will be in danger of losing its identity, which God will not allow. At the end of this global world power structure, God will establish an eternal kingdom. “And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever” (Daniel 2:44).
