"How did the statement, ""His blood be on us, and our children” affect the Jews?"

The suffering of the Jewish people throughout history is the fulfillment of Bible prophecy. Deuteronomy 28:1-14 lists the blessings Israel would experience if they followed the laws of the Lord. But in the next 54 verses, Moses, a servant of God, prophesied what would happen if Israel failed to heed the Word of God.

While the Jews accepted the guilt for the shedding of Jesus' blood, the Apostle Peter makes it quite clear that the entire world was involved, "...both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel..." (Acts 4:27). We are ALL guilty of the shedding of Jesus' blood. But the good news is that ALL people can be saved because of His shed blood!

Professor David Flüsser, New Testament teacher at Jerusalem's Hebrew University, did not believe in Jesus, but during one of our conferences, he said, "If the blood of Jesus is the saving substance for the Christian, would this same blood not have the saving power for the Jews when they said, 'His blood be upon us and our children"?
