If peace is good and is desired by all, why can't it be lasting?
Because man's idea of peace is built on his own ability to produce it; he never takes his sinful nature into account. Not only is peace the absence of war or conflict, but real lasting peace is based on love. Real peace was introduced when Jesus died on Calvary's cross, pouring out His blood for the sins of mankind. The price for peace was paid in full. Each and every one of us who believes in Jesus as his/her personal Savior becomes a child of peace. In the midst of a world that stands in conflict with one another, incapable of producing a lasting form of peace, the sacrificial love of our Lord is and always will be the answer.
