"If the Temple sacrifices only acted as a sin ""covering,"" and Jesus' blood is the power for the remission of sins, then why would Temple sacrifices need to be reinstituted?"

The Holy Spirit inspired Hosea to write a significant prophecy: “For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim” (Hosea 3:4). This indicates an undefined period of time when the Jews will not have these things that belong to their cultural and religious identity, including the Temple service. It is my understanding that the rebuilding of the Temple, with the reinstitution of the sacrificial service, will be done as a memorial to what Jesus accomplished on Calvary's cross. The Jews never really fully understood what the Temple service was all about, but when Jesus comes they will understand why it was necessary for countless animals to be sacrificed. Then the Jews will serve the Lord with joy and gladness.
