Which nations play a major endtime role?

Israel will obviously play a major role in endtime events. All of the nations that surround Israel will also be involved, as will Rome, the city/state that ruled Israel when Jesus came to earth the first time. Daniel identified the final Gentile power structure in chapter 9:26: "...after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined." We know that Rome is "the people of the prince" who destroyed the sanctuary. The Arab nations surrounding Israel, coupled with the European Union, are two major power blocs that will play a significant endtime role. The rest of the world is identified as "all the earth" or "the Gentiles."
