Who owns the Temple Mount?

Israeli territory includes all of Jerusalem, and that means the Temple Mount. However, it's not as simple as it sounds, or as it should be. The Arabs-- the ones living not only in Israel but in all of the Arab countries--vehemently oppose Israel's sovereignty over the Temple Mount.

Viewing the religious side of the spectrum, Muslim authorities have made it clear that the Temple Mount, Jerusalem, and all of Israel belong to the Arabs. Muslim law dictates that wherever and whenever territory is conquered in the name of Allah, it becomes the eternal property of the Muslims.

However, God has different ideas, which He expressed through the Jewish prophet Zechariah, who wrote: "So the angel that communed with me said unto me, Cry thou, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy. And I am very sore displeased with the heathen that are at ease: for I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction. Therefore thus saith the LORD; I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies: my house shall be built in it, saith the LORD of hosts, and a line shall be stretched forth upon Jerusalem" (Zechariah 1:14-16). The question of ownership will be settled once and for all when the Messiah returns.
