Will the European Union be limited to Europe?

Initially, the European Union will be limited to the continent. However, Europe must ultimately reach outside of its borders. For example, we already mentioned Turkey, an Asian country, that has tried unsuccessfully to gain acceptance into the European Union. The country's leaders are working very hard to qualify for membership and will be accepted sooner or later. Most Mediterranean countries are potential candidates for Union membership although they are not part of the European continent.

It is interesting that the ancient Roman Empire ruled all of the Mediterranean countries from the tip of northern Africa to the Indian Ocean. In the end, however, the world will participate in Europe's success. The Bible says: "Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces" (Daniel 7:23).
