IRAN - ‘Islamic Countries Should Sever Ties with Israel’
“The Zionist regime is committing crimes shamelessly and without hiding it,” Khamenei said about Israel’s operations in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, as well as strikes on Lebanon and Syria. He is certain that Israel continues to commit these crimes because the Islamic community has not used its “inner strength” yet.
“The Islamic world should downgrade political relations with the Zionist regime, step up pressure on it in the media and clearly show that it stands firmly on the side of the oppressed Palestinian people,” Khamenei added. As a first step, he called on the Islamic countries to “completely sever economic ties” with Israel.

While antisemitism is reportedly increasing throughout the world, there is another side of the story: Israel established diplomatic relations with Egypt in 1979 and with Jordan in 1994. Additionally, in 2020, the UAE, Bahrain, Morrocco, and Sudan normalized relations with the Jewish State. There are more Muslim-majority countries on the horizon that desperately wish for good relations with Israel, for a number of reasons: 1) agricultural science and technology, 2) non-combustion energy creation, and 3) military defense capability. Israel’s technologic prowess in that field is second to none.
Some 2,500 years ago, there was a predecessor of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei—Cyrus, King of Persia. We may call him the first Zionist: “Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying, Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah” (Ezra 1:1-2).
Nowhere in the article published by the Russian news agency Tass, is it mentioned that Hamas in the south as well as Hezbollah in the north have publicly declared their goal to eradicate the Zionist State. Yet the words of the prophet Jeremiah proclaim: “Thus saith the Lord; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the Lord” (Jeremiah 31:37).
