ISRAEL - Jewish Terrorist Prosecuted

Arno Froese

One of the regular refrains of critics against Israel during the current war is that it fails to prosecute violence by Jews against Palestinians.

Putting aside on one hand that sometimes Israel has not caught suspects it should catch, on the other hand, the five indictments already filed against Israeli security forces for abuse at Sde Teiman, 75 IDF criminal probes of soldiers […] and over 300 IDF operational probes relating to the war—there are ongoing cases right now which are below the radar and are close to verdicts for Jewish terror against Palestinians…

In fact, recently the minor-defendant finished testifying as part of the defense’s case, and the defense’s case may wrap up relatively soon, which then leads to conclusion arguments from both sides and a verdict.

Such a verdict could lead to years of prison time for the defendant for the killing of Rabi, a Palestinian.

This would not be the only such case of Jewish terrorists facing justice for violence against Palestinians, with the 2014 murderer of Palestinian minor Muhammad Abu Khadir, Yosef Chaim Ben-David, and the 2015 murderer of the Palestinian Dawabsheh family, Amiram Ben Uliel, both sentenced to life in jail in recent years.

Moreover, the Shin Bet more broadly accused the indicted minor and some unspecified others, possibly including the other four minors originally arrested, of being affiliated with radical Jewish groups seeking to overthrow Israeli democracy and establish a new Jewish theocracy.

Arno's Commentary

Contrary to popular belief that Israelis committing crimes against Palestinians are not prosecuted, this story reveals that as a myth. In some Arab countries, when Jews are killed, no one is put on trial. Israel is a democratic, equal justice applying, rule of law state that does not hesitate to prosecute criminal elements from their own ranks.

Just as among the Palestinians, religious fanaticism is dangerous and can be deadly.

We are reminded here of the Biblical event recorded in 1 Kings 21, where King Ahab’s wife, Jezebel, rigidly declared: “And she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people: And set two men, sons of Belial, before him, to bear witness against him, saying, Thou didst blaspheme God and the king. And then carry him out, and stone him, that he may die” (vv. 9-10). We notice in this story that “the nobles who were the inhabitants in his city” (v. 11) participated.

In another event in the New Testament, the Gospel of Matthew reports: “But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus” (Matthew 27:20). That too was mass hysteria induced by religious fanatics, “the chief priests and elders.”

While many settlers—falsely called so, for they are merely establishing subdivisions—are fanatics to a certain degree, they at least have a Scripture which they can point to. This land was given to their forefathers: “Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses” (Joshua 1:3).

In the meantime, Israel is being pressured by the entire world to surrender part of the Promised Land, despite the fact that today, Arab nations are occupying much of Israel’s territory. That, we believe, is part of the reason for Middle East conflict. Yet, it will be solved. What was fulfilled about 2,600 years ago, will be fulfilled again: “And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the Lord” (Ezekiel 36:11).
