RUSSIA - “I Think, Therefore I Exist”
Speaking at the AI Journey international conference, the Russian leader noted that generative AI has recently significantly improved its thinking abilities, and recalled the saying of mathematician Rene Descartes, which became a symbol of the scientific revolution of the new era: “I think, therefore I exist.” And until now, according to Putin, thinking, as well as memory, speech and the ability to understand the feelings of others were considered fundamental human characteristics.
“More and more experts and scientists say that the development of the ability to reason will lead to the emergence of strong artificial intelligence. That is, such technologies that will outperform humans in key activities,” the Russian president emphasized.

As the article states, it was the French philosopher, scientist, and mathematician René Descartes who utter the famous words, “I think, therefore I exist.” Wikipedia writes that Descartes influenced Immanuel Kant and Isaac Newton.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) seems to be the latest development in the never-ceasing quest of scientists around the globe.
What is unique is that no one is convincingly able to show just where AI will lead.
In the Bible, we see how mankind desires to make its own god. We are reminded of Exodus 32. The people of Israel had literally and physically experienced the mighty works of God. They crossed the Red Sea on dry ground; they had seen the cloud of glory in front of them, and the pillar of fire at night. They saw the rock which Moses smote, producing water. Many other miraculous, visible manifestations of God’s divine presence were experienced by the children of Israel. Yet, when Moses went to the Mount in response to God’s request, they did something virtually unbelievable: “And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him” (Exodus 32:1). Israel decided to follow their manmade gods.
We have reason to believe that AI is just another step toward producing man’s own god, ultimately leading to a diabolically-possessed person, of whom we read in 2 Thessalonians 2:4: “Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.”
