UN - 10.3 Billion Population in 2080?
The world population is predicted to peak at about 10.3 billion people in the 2080s, according to a report by the United Nations.
The agency’s 2024 World Population Prospects study projects the population will begin to fall after that, to about 10.2 billion people by the century’s end. Though, immigration can help slow the decrease.
Globally, the fertility rate is 2.3 births per woman, compared to 3.3 births in 1990. It takes 2.1 births per woman to maintain a population size, barring immigration. More than half of the world’s countries have fallen below that rate.
Additionally, the global life expectancy is beginning to climb again post-COVID pandemic, and is now 73.3 years of age. It is anticipated to climb to 77.4 years in 2054.

Arno's Commentary
“Though immigration can slow the decrease” is an oxymoron; immigration may add to the population in one place, but it decreases the number in another.
Worldometers.info shows life expectancy being 46.5 years globally in 1950; this has changed to 73.4 years in 2023. Wikipedia lists life expectancy in 2022: leading the world of developed nations is Japan at 84 years, Switzerland 83.5, Australia 83.2, Sweden 83.1, Spain 83.1, Israel 82.7, and USA 77.4 years.
There are multiple reasons for higher life expectancy: 1) modern medicine, 2) food, and 3) comfort of life. However, nothing changes what is written in Hebrews 9:27: “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”
