Spiritual Strength For Each Day

“We are not ignorant of his [Satan’s] devices” (2 Corinthians 2:11).

Notice the small, even minute, footprints of the enemy in your life. It is the little foxes that spoil the vines. Catch them. The heedless passing by of the footprints of the enemy can have fateful effects on your faith life. Do not avoid the victorious confrontation with the enemy; face your temptation head on. Jesus is Victor! What does the Lord Jesus say in the parable of the tares among the wheat? He answers the question of the servants about the origin of the tares, “An enemy hath done this” (Matthew 13:28). Suddenly you notice that within your church, in your own family, tares have grown among the wheat. This is the work of the enemy; these are his footprints. He is active everywhere. You must abide in Jesus! We are in the world, it is true, but we are not of the world. We are surrounded by demonic powers, but they are not in us as long as the Lord remains in us and we in Him. Then He, the Victor, works in you and through you. Then you are not only able to recognize the enemy, but you can also withstand him victoriously so that he is powerless and you can overcome him.
