Spiritual Strength For Each Day

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).

I  am sure that among my readers there are those whose hearts are filled with hopelessness and desperation, and they do not know where to go with it. Do you belong to these hopeless and desperate people? The Lord Jesus is standing before you and asking you, “Wilt thou be made whole?” (John 5:6). If you say “Yes” to Him, He will give you His life, and you can bring Him your sinful life in exchange for it. Then the corrupting pride in you, your self-admiration, will be cast out, and the good things to which you attached no value will be planted in you. How is such an exchange possible? Through the fact that Jesus carried away the sins of the world on Calvary’s cross. I can well imagine that you are saying, “Yes, I want to be free of my desperation. I want to be like Jesus.” Yet, I have to say to you, think it over! To be like Jesus requires a total surrender of yourself to Him.  You can only attain to this high goal when you give Him your life completely.
