Spiritual Strength For Each Day
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
We are living today on this earth as though it were a volcano that could eject its glowing lava masses at any moment. Jesus was referring to our time when He said, “Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken” (Luke 21:26). People today are ruled by a growing fear of the future. This is why there are so many depressed people. Psychiatrists are busier than ever. Man was created as an element of sinlessness, but has been transformed through “nuclear fission” into an element of sin. Truly, there is nothing new under the sun. There in the Garden of Eden, the first “nuclear fission” took place on a spiritual level. Sin is the dividing element between God and man. But the loving God did not merely leave man in Satan’s hand. The sacrificial death of His Son released tremendous renewing energy, so that Paul could write triumphantly to the Christians in Rome, “Where sin abounded, grace did much more abound” (Romans 5:20).
