Spiritual Strength For Each Day

“And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed” (Genesis 19:17).

The main sin of Sodom was devastating immorality: homosexuality, perversity, robbery, murder and greed. In our day we are living as the people lived in Sodom. Governments are losing more and more of their authority, and are becoming more and more helpless where increasing crime is concerned. For Lot at that time the command was, “Escape for thy life!” It is beyond doubt that this message of love was not proclaimed in an indifferent way but in a very earnest one. Lot was privileged by two angels coming to him personally. You are also privileged too, for God is speaking to your heart right now through His Word. Escape for your life; flee to Jesus! God Himself is turning to the people of today, with the very same message. It is because God loves you. So, flee for your life! God says, “I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live” (Ezekiel 33:11).
