Spiritual Strength For Each Day

“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts” (2 Peter 1:19).

To have means that we possess something. The Lord wants to say to us with these words, not that we will receive the prophetic Word, but that we already have it.  It is a precious possession that we must take heed of, “as unto a light that shineth in a dark place,” and that we should make use of. We are living in the dark night of the end times, “until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts.” It moves me deeply that Peter does not say, “until the day star arises in heaven and Jesus comes from the heavenly glory,” but “until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts.” By this he testifies that the returning Jesus has something to do with our hearts. For this reason, at the moment He comes, a tremendous echo will resound in the hearts of the sanctified children of God. The light of the prophetic Word is all the more necessary because the fulfillment, the realization, of Biblical prophecy is being accelerated in our day. The time is not far off when the Lord will reveal Himself personally before the eyes of the whole world.
