Spiritual Strength For Each Day
We must continually remind ourselves that time is a precious gift of God. He has given it to us so that we can redeem it. We must give the minutes, hours and days eternal value. If we do not do this and waste precious time, we are unthankful and despise a great gift of God. We must remember that lost time can never be replaced. Every minute that passes by is gone forever; it will never return in all eternity. Through the time that is given us, we have the possibility of working for God. As children of God, we are His coworkers, each one in the place where God has put us. No person on earth gave His time such eternal value as our Lord Jesus. John says at the end of his Gospel, “And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written” (John 21:25). Time is short and the king’s business is urgent (cf. 1 Samuel 21:8). Be faithful, therefore, in the use of the brief time that is entrusted to you. Then it will be said to you one day, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord” (Matthew 25:21).
