Spiritual Strength For Each Day
“As it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him” (1 Corinthians 2:9).
The Church of Jesus Christ is portrayed in the Scriptures in twofold glory: the body of Christ and the temple of God. The true glory of the incorporated member of the Church is so great, so infinite, that we can only imagine it by means of a picture: that we are His body, His temple. The glory itself cannot be described. In the New Testament, there are seven parables of the Lord about a wedding. The Bride is neither visible nor mentioned in any of them. She is still veiled. Why? Because the Bride of the Lamb will only be revealed after the Rapture, when the complete Church stands before the throne of Christ. This great moment will reveal the true Bride. All will have eternal life, but some will “suffer loss.” What loss? The loss of a yet undisclosed position in relationship to the Lord. The Bride is revealed as “His wife” for the first time in the last book of the Bible, “…and his wife hath made herself ready” (Revelation 19:7). How zealous we should be, in view of such glory, to strive for this indescribable honor of belonging to His Bride!
