Spiritual Strength For Each Day
“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God” (1 Thessalonians 4:16).
This unique and tremendous event in the history of the Church will be preceded by a unique event: the conversion of one single person. The conversion of this one soul who will be added to the Church, will initiate the Rapture. We know that not all people will be converted; the prophetic Word clearly documents that fact, but when the last from the Gentiles is converted, the Church is complete, “…until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in” (Romans 11:25). Every addition to the Church is registered in heaven and, when the last one is converted, the Rapture will take place. This could be today. The Rapture is also a spiritual mystery from another point of view. In the Old Testament, we read of two prophetic examples of the Rapture who did not see death but were taken away: Enoch and Elijah. Neither of these men died. They are examples of the Church. We, as members of His body, hope that we will not have to die. Paul says, “We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed” (1 Corinthians 15:51).
