Spiritual Strength For Each Day

“Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him” (Psalm 37:7).

Those who are continually being tossed to and fro because they do not cast all their cares upon the Almighty God, cannot wait for the Lord in the right manner. Let all other voices become silent in you now. We must not let ourselves be influenced and distracted from our goal, which is to wait for the Lord. Do not rely on any measure based on emotion or feelings. If you have truly turned away from “idols” to serve the Lord, it cannot be other than that you are waiting for Him. Is it not high time for you to lay aside everything that clouds your expectation of the appearance of Jesus? We only have a short time left, for the Lord will come soon. All the accompanying signs of His return are here already. Everything around us is being dissolved. And the Lord calls to us through 2 Peter 3:11 with great earnest, “Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness.”

John writes the same thing to us in other words in 1 John 2:28, “And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.”
