Spiritual Strength For Each Day
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds” (2 Corinthians 10:4).
If our thoughts are pure and full of love, we will create a blessed, beneficial atmosphere around us. If they are evil, however, it is better for us to be alone, for then we spread a depressing, tense atmosphere, and one day the fellowship in which we live and work will be destroyed. It is said that this is due to suppressed aggression, but it is actually the suppressed evil thoughts against your brother and your sister. If the devil has power over your thoughts, flee into the protection of Jesus Christ. Then be of good comfort, because the promise of the Lord will apply, “Behold, I give unto you power…over all the power of the enemy” (Luke 10:19).
Sins of thought and sins of the tongue are brothers. Woe betide us if they are ignited by hell. But Jesus is Victor. He won eternal life for us all by surrendering His life. He did not let Himself be provoked. He did not accept the challenge to assert His right. He stayed on the cross as the Lamb of God, and overcame the enemy who oppresses you, once and for all.
