Spiritual Strength For Each Day
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31).
Many people sigh, “How weary I am at the beginning of this new year!” There are indeed many weary people. However, the more Christ is the only and primary goal in your life, the less you will be weary in your spirit. What gives you the greatest encouragement to walk in faith? The goal, the purpose. Those who have no eternal purpose become tired of life. So the question, what is your highest goal? Your business, money, family, or success? And then Christ? No wonder you are always in need of a rest! Your will is divided because your purpose is concentrated on many material things. You are drawn to temporal things. For this reason you are no longer able to set your eyes on the highest, best and eternal things. What should you do? Turn your eyes in the other direction. Do it now. Let your life’s motto be, “For me to live is Christ” (Philippians 1:21). Then your heart will be glad, and unceasing strength will flow into you from the sanctuary. The Lord says, “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else” (Isaiah 45:22).
