Spiritual Strength For Each Day

“Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert” (Isaiah 43:18-19).

We have crossed the threshold into the New Year, and at the beginning I want you to ask yourself, how many opportunities to witness did you fail to take advantage of in the past year? How many things did you neglect to do which you ought to have done? How many times were you disobedient? You probably have good reason to be despondent upon looking back over the past year. But that’s not final; you can come to the Lord with your failures. What a God we have who forgives our sins! Regardless of the many things you failed to do, He will not reject you. The blood of Jesus Christ guarantees you today complete cleansing and renewal; you only need to truly humble yourself, for He says, “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.” Those who have experienced this forgiving grace will hate sin and go from strength to strength, as it says in Psalm 84:7: “They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.”
