Spiritual Strength For Each Day
“…In the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up” (2 Peter 3:10).
How many things have changed in the past year! People change. Good friends become enemies; healthy people become ill and die. The world changes and passes away; natural catastrophes and climate changes alter the world. The Word of God says, “They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end” (Psalms 102:26-27).
We are approaching a great and terrible time of judgment. Blessed are they who have taken refuge from the “wrath to come” in the eternal and unchanging Rock, Jesus Christ. He says, “Because I live, ye shall live also” (John 14:19). If all else perishes, He will not perish; He will remain, and we with Him. Again He said, “…They shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand” (John 10:28). Nothing will “…be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:39), and “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever” (Hebrews 13:8).
