Spiritual Strength For Each Day
“According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue” (2 Peter 1:3).
The words “all things” mean that the power of God is there for all situations in our lives. If this power of Jesus Christ lives in us, then it also shines out of us. God’s children should have a little more radiance in their eyes, for the eye is the light of the body. There are light switches with which we can regulate the brightness of a light bulb. In many Christians, this switch seems to have been turned down so far that the light is very dim. What is the reason? The power of Jesus does not dwell in them by faith, and therefore is not effective in their weakness. It is a terrible thing when everything in our lives remains theory because we do not really know Him or the power of His resurrection. This wonderful spiritual power, which also overcomes physical tiredness, must become effective in us. We need not be excluded from this power of God that is revealed in Jesus Christ, but we may be directly included in it. Let us, therefore, give thanks for the power that He has given us.
