Spiritual Strength For Each Day
“If we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin” (1 John 1:7).
When we come into the light, everything becomes clear. The truth is revealed, even if it is painful. But in the same measure, our innermost being is cleansed in the precious blood of Jesus, according to the above text. The trouble with many people, Christians too, is their attempt to embellish things. This is evident in their daily lives. Everybody tries to put himself in a good light. If you attempt to embellish yourself and make yourself out to be better than you are, you are excluding yourself with such action from the presence of God. The emotional complexes, dark entanglements and feelings of powerlessness come from your lack of self-knowledge; subsequently, you try to make yourself look better before God than you are. The Lord rejects these attempts at renovation, however. The breakthrough to a truly new life will become reality when you are willing to surrender your old life completely into the death of the Lord Jesus.
