Spiritual Strength For Each Day

“Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?” (Psalm 2:1).

The present world-political situation looks like a tornado. Everything is in motion. If we were to look at a tornado from the inside, we would be confused to a state of panic. The raging of the nations and individual people is becoming louder and louder. People are crying for social justice, yet remaining selfish themselves. They are calling for peace and demonstrate, yet they themselves do not have peace with God. This is the fatal contradiction. They are saying, “Peace, peace,” yet there is no peace.

Is this the contradiction in your heart? Do you demand of others what you lack yourself? The desperate striving to create a better world by human means is becoming more and more intense, but is doomed to failure because the nations are turning against the people who, through Jesus Christ, brought the peace of God to this earth. This is in essence the world in crisis today. But hidden in this world-political tornado is the still, gentle moving of God. True peace—the Kingdom of Peace and the Prince of Peace—will come, literally and physically in and through Israel. Satan is trying to mimic prophecy, anticipating this, which is why everything that looks like peace is in reality a pseudo peace.
