“And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven” (Colossians 1:20).
The whole world is in contradiction to Israel, because God made peace through the blood of Jesus Christ on Calvary’s cross in Israel. This is ultimately the reason that the world rejects Israel and thereby says “no” to the Son of God. But the Son will return, and He will install the peace of God. Jesus is not only our peace, but also the light of the world. Peace without light is impossible. Word, light, peace—all three are united in Jesus Christ. He is the incarnate Word. He is the light. He is our peace. “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path” (Psalm 119:105).
It exposes and convicts you, but in this way you come to the cross at Calvary. There you will be cleansed by the blood of the Lamb from all sin. Only in the light of the Word of God, can you find the peace of God that will fill your heart. Around you there will still be storms, but you can be filled with the peace of God in the midst of increasing unrest.
