Spiritual Strength For Each Day

“If we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin” (1 John 1:7).

During my ministry, I was required to travel often. When flying overseas, particularly from the West to the East, I was always fascinated by flying toward the light, leaving behind the darkness. It always was a moving demonstration of spiritual reality, because we who believe are approaching the light of eternity. How important it is for a child of God that his or her path is directed toward the light and not in the other direction. It is just as necessary in your and my faith-lives to escape the darkness.

“Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14).

Flee from darkness. The Lord said of His servant Job, “He is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil” (Job 1:8, NIV). This is the secret of victory: shun evil, flee from it, and come into the all-illuminating presence of the Lord Jesus. Hasten toward the light. Flee form the darkness, for Jesus is coming soon!
