Spiritual Strength For Each Day

“The Lord your God which goeth before you, he shall fight for you…” (Deuteronomy 1:30).

You may be tired of fighting and being exhausted. Great difficulties are continually mounting up before you. In your innermost being, you hear threatening sounds of unsolvable conflicts. You simply cannot rest. Unjust situations, unjust treatment, unjust punishment, threatening illnesses, distressing worries, exams—what is it that keeps you in a continual state of battle so that you find no rest? Listen to what the Bible says, “Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you” (2 Chronicles 20:17). He can do it much better than you can! No enemy can withstand Him. Why are you still fighting the battle yourself, then? Because subconsciously you think you have enough strength to do it alone. But you will fail, for it is written, “He weakened my strength in the way” (Psalm 102:23). Why? So that you cease to fight, for Jesus has already fought the battle for you victoriously. Your futile battle has its origin in your supposing you can do it yourself. Our greatest battle is not to fight the battle ourselves. Let the Lord fight it for you!
