Spiritual Strength For Each Day
“Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? Hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God” (Psalm 43:5).
Are you restless and stressed? The two words “no time” are like lashes from the whip of the devil. Stress digs an early grave for many. “No time”—in spite of all the technological advantages in our times. Many people are captives in the iron grip of this spirit of stress. But Jesus has overcome this spirit! How can you become free of it? Not through more effort on your part, but through more prayer. When you are on your knees, the Lord will show you the way to freedom from this spirit of stress in His Word. Anxiety is a product of stress. Proverbs 14:30 says, “A calm and undisturbed mind and heart are the life and health of the body” (Amplified Bible). Why is your heart so restless and anxious? Not on account of the amount of work you have to do, and not because your problems are so great, but because you are not trusting the Lord. Inner restlessness is lack of faith. But you can have an undisturbed mind and heart in the midst of a stressful world if your heart is resting in Jesus.
